NYC blossoms this fall

The drab yellow blur of a New York City cab passing by is getting a whole lot more colorful this autumn, thanks to a privately funded community service project led by the not-for-profit program Portraits of Hope.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of New York’s first metered cab, the project, dubbed Garden in Transit, will transform thousands of NYC taxi cabs into brilliant canvases, showcasing the artwork of over 23,000 children and adults from schools, hospitals and community programs throughout the city.

Dripping with “grassroots,” this combination of out-of-home and guerilla marketing is sure to create a buzz for NYC and the proud folks, both young and old, involved with the project.

Hats off to everyone involved, especially the volunteers and supporters.
