Gone. Good-bye. Hasta la vista. LinkedIn will eventually fail, we predict, for two reasons. It does not provide a true social network platform for people to easily communicate with peers--compared to Facebook, it just feels cold and cumbersome. And second, its attempt to monetize its customer base is ridiculous. The image above shows what you get when you try to email a former colleague through LinkedIn. For $19.95 per month, you are allowed to send three emails through LinkedIn to your professional colleagues. Three. Emails. A. Month.
Look, we don't mean to sound grumpy, but the sheer idiocy of charging computer-hip professionals $6.65 per individual email seems a bit, oh, 1994. Somebody call Metcalfe, because the utility of this network is down.

Right on. Totally agree. Facebook is the short-term future. (Until something better comes along.)
