Kids these days. Six magazine titles with more than 400,000 circulation bit the dust in the tail end of 2007, meaning they either stopped publishing or having their circs audited (which means hey, they were really, really embarrassed by the reader count). The newly deceased included Child, Jane, Junior Scholastic, Nick Jr., Success, and Teen People.
Hmm. Seems like most targeted young people. Not a good trend for mags, given that people tend to take their media habits with them as they age.

Well as a parent, and a former teen, my guess is that most parents wouldn't buy that particular issue (clay cover)for their teen due to the 'gems' it claims to have inside, and most teens have better things to spend their money on, namely things that don't have the words TEEN, CHILD, or JR plastered on it. :)

Any excuse to use Clay's name to gets hits. Your article is just stupid.
Thanks for the feedback. Although I must be clear, our mission on this advertising blog is not solely to attract readers Googling the name "Clay Aiken." :)
Just HOW exactly is Clay Aiken responsible for: Child, Jane, Junior Scholastic, Nick Jr., Success, and Teen People going under? I doubt he appeared on the cover of all of them (probably NONE of them). How "interesting" you chose to show him on People - a magazine who has... no such problem. I think (as has been suggested) your use of a celebrity name, is to get hits. LAME! Your blog contains no pertinent facts, no information WORTH reading. Another big YAWN.

It's Teen People, look behind the hair.
Thanks again, candid comments are always welcome.
Based on the other magazines listed it is evident you use Clay's name to draw hits to your blog since it is obvious his appearance on the cover of Teen People wasn't its cause for it being retired, since People Magazine doesn't mind having him on their cover, but I guess all is fair in marketing
I think what is really clear by the magazines you listed, is that societies priorities are out of wack. The magazines you listed (with the exception of Teen People) were created to serve as educational tools as well as entertainment, for the most part they were wholesome. Magazines like Star, the National Enquirer The Globe, In Touch and now even People magazine sinking to the level of a true tabloid serving no useful purpose but to spread gossip lies, and hurt innocent people, yet they continue to survive like cockroaches...for me this says something...it says there is really something wrong with the world today.
The only thing Clay Aiken is guilty of is being a good person trying to make a difference in the world through his charity work, and his desire to be a role model...it would be nice if people got credit for the good they try to do.
